HOAGLAND, Prudence Minnick

Veedersburg - Mrs. Prudence Hoagland, 86, of Rt 4, Veedersburg died Friday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill where she had been a patient four weeks. She had been ill the last 3 months. A daughter of Fletcher and Sarah Simmerman Minnick, she was born July 26, 1884, in Stone Bluff. She married William Hoagland Sept 1, 1904. He died Nov 25, 1961. Survivors are a son, William K. of Veedersburg; 4 daughters, Mrs. Mildred Kelley of Stone Bluff, Mrs. Florence Mccormick of Veedersburg, Mrs. Geneva Quinland of Wingate and Mrs. Alice Krecek of Monticello; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Powers of Clear Lake Highlands, Calif; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Six brothers and 3 sisters are deceased. She was a member of the First United Methodist church and Ladies Aid of Stone Bluff, the Rural VanBuren Homemakers Club and Birthday Club. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Stone Bluff Church with Rev. August Huber officiating and burial in Osborne Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg.
